works as a painter and sculptress and is a central figure in contemporary Visionary Art.
Her paintings offer the viewer a detailed glimpse into her inner landscapes – imagery that has been inspired by expanded states of consciousness. The Visionary Symbolism of Martina Hoffmann is decidedly feminine and places the ‘Universal Woman’ in an intimate cosmos. She transcribes her ecstatic experiences but also her subtle reflections on the nature of women in a realistic style which marries the fantastic to the sacred.
Martina Hoffmann has spoken on behalf of visionary art and culture at events at Symposiums, conferences and festivals as well as having taught painting workshops together with her late husband, the Fantastic Realist Robert Venosa, worldwide.
Her work has been published internationally in books and magazines as well as having created original art and photography for numerous music CD as well as book and magazine covers.
The artist keeps a home and studio in both, the USA and France. She has exhibited her work since 1985 and is represented in the permanent collection of NAIA Museum in France.
“Your images show an artistry in painting that suffices to produce amazement and admiration for which words fail me.”
Dr. Albert Hofmann
